Parents'/Guardians' Rights Notification:

Parents/Guardians in the Eastern Allamakee Community School District have the right to learn about the following qualifications of their child's teacher: state licensure requirements, for the grade level and content areas taught, the current baccalaureate/graduate certification/degree. You may also request the qualifications of an instructional paraprofessional who serves your student in a Title I program or if your school operates a school-wide Title I program.


Parents/Guardians may request this information from the Office of the Superintendent by calling (563)538-4201 or sending a letter of request to the Office of the Superintendent, 569 Center Street, Lansing, Iowa 52151.


The Eastern Allamakee Community School District ensures that parents will be notified in writing if their child has been assigned, or has been taught by a teacher for four or more consecutive weeks by a teacher who is not considered highly qualified.


Education Equity: It is the policy of the Eastern Allamakee Community School District not to illegally discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, gender, disability, religion, creed, age (for employment), marital status (for programs), in it's educational programs and it's employment practices. There is a grievance procedure for processing complaints of discrimination. Student Harassment/Bullying: No student shall be subjected to any type of harassment or bullying from another student on the basis of age (actual or perceived), color, creed, national origin, race, religion, marital status, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical attributes, physical or mental ability, ancestry, political party preference, political belief, SES or familial status. A student who feels victimized by such an offense must contact the building principal or any other staff member. The potential consequences for a student found to be guilty of harassment or bullying of another student may include a simple warning, out-of-school suspension, and / or expulsion.
